The top says “Sweet Sour Don’t Touch.”The back of the bottom says “Keep the Pants on Till I Get Back Home”. From the 1940s, most likely from a World War II Soldier who sent them home to his wife.
These are so cool
Like, on one hand, “keep the pants on til I get back home” is a totally shitty, condescending, agressive message to send your partner. Even if you’re in a monogamous relationship, this is simply a creepy as fuck way to manifest that. On the other hand… I can’t get the image out of my head of a soldier sitting down to embroider shiny pink undies. Also, I’m trying to imagine how it would feel to wear undies hand embroidered/sewn by a partner.
In any case I’m embroidering the fuck out of my bra as we speak.
Our categories are important. We cannot organize a social life, a political movement, or our individual identities and desires without them. The fact that categories invariably leak and can never contain all the relevant “existing things” does not render them useless, only limited. Categories like “woman,” “butch,” “lesbian,” or “transsexual” are all imperfect, historical, temporary, and arbitrary. We use them, and they use us. We use them to construct meaningful lives, and they mold us into historically specific forms of personhood. Instead of fighting for immaculate classifications and impenetrable boundaries, let us strive to maintain a community that understands diversity as a gift, sees anomalies as precious, and treats all basic principles with a hefty dose of skepticism.
California teacher Carie Charlesworth was fired for the “crime” of being a victim of domestic violence, according to letters obtained by NBC San Diego. The firing was prompted by Charlesworth’s abusive ex-husband Martin Charlesworth, who invaded the Holy Trinity School parking lot after a weekend where Carie had called the police on him three times…
Martin was sent to prison, but Carie herself was also punished. On April 11th, the school sent a letter to her informing her of her dismissal. The grounds? Her husband was dangerous:
We know from the most recent incident involving you and Mrs. Wright (the principal) while you were still physically at Holy Trinity School, that the temporary restraining order in effect were not a deterrent to him. Although we understand he is current incarcerated, we have no way of knowing how long or short a time he will actually serve and we understand from court files that he may be released as early as next fall. In the interest of the safety of the students, faculty and parents at Holy Trinity School, we simply cannot allow you to return to work there, or, unfortunately, at any other school in the Diocese.
This reminds me of the compassion-less staff at my Catholic grade school. Ugh.
[TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE CULTURE]
It’s not about sex - they have porn, they have as much fucking porn as they could possibly ask for
they have billboards and ads and primetime tv shows and hollywood movies and websites free videos magazines they have porn channels porn movies with sexy images of women
they have girls on websites who are paid to webcam with them
there are girls who post sexy pics of themselves online for them
none of this is enough, none of this is, at the bottom of it all, what they want
creepshots specifically says this isn’t enough - they don’t want pics of girls knowingly posing (i.e. giving consent)
they want to violate, they want to rape, they want to own every woman walking down the fucking street
they want your teenager daughter, they want your mom, they want you
when you don’t know it, when you can’t say no, when you’re on the bus, when you’re walking down the street, when you’re at the beach
they get off on your violation, they want more proof that women exist for them and them alone
it’s sexy because it’s embarrassing, humiliating; they say it themselves
this is rape culture in its purest form
because women saying yes on screen, women saying yes to their faces, saying yes on their computers, on their phones is not what they want
that’s not “hot” enough
what’s hot is violating your consent, what’s hot is demeaning you, what’s hot is owning a piece of you against your will
and they won’t stop until we are all pornography
I firmly believe that anybody who uses or accesses Creepshots is a rape apologist and probably a rapist.
That anybody who takes photographs on the street of unwilling perceived women (to submit to Creepshots or not) is a rape apologist and probably a rapist.
Anybody who tries to defend Creepshots for whatever reason is a rape apologist and probably a rapist.
Anybody who sees Creepshots as anything other than an invasive, predatory, disgusting violation of our right to exist in public is a rape apologist and probably a rapist.
These people have given me zero indication that they could possibly be any other way and I have no obligation or duty to not see them as a threat to my safety and the safety of others around them.

people complain about “misandry.” as if it could get anywhere near to the kind of systemic campaign of terror and violence misogyny perpetuates.
